Managing Stress in the Classroom

A Self-Reg Approach

Have you noticed an increase in stress behaviours in your classroom? Are you experiencing more stress in your role as a teacher, counsellor, educational assistant, or administrator? If you answered yes to these questions, you are not alone, and this professional learning event is for you.

Join us at Acadia University’s K.C. Irving Centre on April 15, 2023, to take a deep dive into the brain science of stress as it relates to student behaviour, learning, and wellbeing. Explore the neuroscience of stress, consider various stress domains, and learn about the management of energy and tension to support students (and you) in self-regulating to improve stress management. The Self-Reg approach shared in this professional learning will give you the why, what, and how in responding to challenging scenarios evidenced in learning communities today. Self-Reg leaders including Stuart Shanker, Susan Hopkins, and Marie Edwards, look forward to bringing this learning to life and providing workshop opportunities to further unpack the learning with colleagues. Included as part of this professional learning, are 2 virtual follow-up sessions facilitated by members of the Self-Reg team enabling continued dialogue, sharing, and mentorship.
