Havens 101

For a Group of 25 Looking to Nurture a Self-Reg Haven

Why would you want to sign your team (or yourself) up for a course that shows you how to transform your educational setting into a place where everyone feels safe in every way: physically, emotionally, socially and culturally? How does that kind of all-encompassing safety relate to learning, good relationships, behaviour and overall well-being in your environment? Because there is definitely a connection!

Self-Reg Havens 101 is a 5-module Professional Learning Series Course that gives teams a unique opportunity to learn together about Self-Reg Havens and how to build one in educational settings, workplaces and communities.

Each module will focus on one of the five Look-Fors of a Self-Reg Haven, as outlined in Self-Reg Schools: A Handbook for Educators, by Drs. Stuart Shanker and Susan Hopkins. Learn from the wisdom and experience of Stuart, Susan as well as the first-hand experience of other professionals who have worked to develop Self-Reg Havens in various settings.

The safety and relationships found in a Haven unlock the child’s potential and learning can occur. 

A Haven is not only a place. Havens are nurtured through our actions, through people, our relationships and the spaces held between. Havens are not about perfection, but a social ecology of people – children, educators, staff, families.

PLS Frequently Asked Questions

Do we each get an individual log in?

Unfortunately not, with a group purchase you will receive a single log in that you are welcome to share with all those within your group of 25 learners who need it. If you would like separate log ins, we recommend that each person in your group register individually here. Or reach out to info@self-reg.ca and we can invoice you and bulk enroll all of your users. 

My Group is Larger or Smaller than 25 people, what should we do?

We absolutely welcome any group big or small to take part in this learning. If you are plus or minus a few learners, that is no problem. For larger groups, please reach out to info@self-reg.ca who can give you an estimate and work with you on group pricing. For much smaller groups we recommend that each person in your group register individually here. 

Can I pay by another method? 

Absolutely! If you need to pay by another method or need an invoice or estimate for a purchase number, no problem! Reach out to info@self-reg.ca and our team will be happy to help.

Will I get a certificate of completion?

Yes! Once you have watched all the videos, a blank certificate will unlock. You will be able to download and fill in this certificate for each person on your team.
